March 30th – April 1st 2007 - Barnstondale, Cheshire – 16-19 years of age, male or female and have an interest in developing your leadership skills. The course focuses on personal development using various adventurous activities (canoeing, abseiling, problem solving) to explore leadership potential – the course is accredited through the open college network
North Area Angling Training Day
Sunday 24th June 2007 - Bannister House Fisheries, Near Preston, Lancashire - Thanks to the National Federation of Anglers, Clubs for Young People is able to offer you a local training event for up to 35 young anglers:
The event is open to anglers from affiliated clubs. The day has been heavily subsidised by CYP northern area and the only cost is £4 per peg. All training & coaching for the day will be FREE of charge.
Cheshire Ring Race
30th June to the 1st July 2007 - Greater Manchester Federation Of Clubs For Young People is also holding a Cheshire Ring Race. The race is a distance of 96 miles (with 92 locks and 3 tunnels to be portaged). It is made up of 5 pairs, a senior and a junior (over the age of 13) also a support crew, the aim is to get around the course in 24 hours. The boats used are very stable touring boats. It is a test of endurance and each two-man total will do about 20 miles in total. The atmosphere throughout the race is always fun, relaxed and supportive. At the end everyone recieves a medal and a real sense of achievement.
